Project: Structural Steel / Architectural Metalwork
Sector: Retail
Client: Corramore Construction
Project outline
BM Steel Fabrications worked with main contractor Corramore Construction, to build a new KFC in Fortwilliam, Scotland. BM Steel manufactured, transported and installed the 26-tonne structural steel frame for the main building.
The company also supplied and installed all architectural metalwork including an access ramp, disabled bay and all boundary railings and parking railings.
A second part of the project involved manufacture and installation of a connecting footbridge over a railway line to allow additional access to the building.
The new KFC is next door to a Costa Coffee that BM Steel had also worked on, supplying and installing the structural steel frame and all the internal and external architectural metalwork.
Paul Murphy, Quantity Surveyor with Corramore Construction commented ‘This is the second project that we have worked on with BM Steel Fabrications in Fortwilliam. BM Steel Fabrications completed all work on time and on budget, including the structural steel frame as well as internal and external fabrications for the job. We have worked with BM Steel on several occasions and they are a reliable supply chain partner who can both manufacture and install, making this element of the project more straightforward’.
