BM Steel Completes Successful Care Home Project in Glasgow
BM Steel has recently completed a successful care home project in Glasgow. The company was appointed by Corramore to manufacture, deliver and install 60 tonnes of structural steel for the new extension to the care home. In addition, we supplied al of the internal balustrades and external railings. The project was challenging as firstly it is located next to a railway line. Secondly the Care Home was occupied at the time of the construction of the extension, so works had to be mindful of noise, dust and additional health and safety considerations.
Mike Mathers of BM Steel commented, “this was a challenging project to work on, but clear communication and early engagement with the team at Corramore made the project run smoothly. All components were manufactured, delivered and installed on time and on budget”.
Paul Murphy, Quantity Surveyor for the project from Corramore Construction commented “Due to the sensitive nature of this project, working alongside a fully functional care home on a restricted site, it was essential for us to engage with a subcontractor who could handle to complexities of this build. Extremely poor ground conditions lead to an unforeseen delay. Mike and his team at BM Steel worked tirelessly to successfully pull this time back. Package included, structural steel, handrails and balustrading to new precast stairs. All completed ahead of schedule”.
